“Heres another “pit-stopping” picture to add to the debate. #WillTheRealArmpitPleaseStandUp #nofilter #armpitdiaries,” she captioned the photo.

Wearing a casual striped top and shades, the actress has posed with her hands behind her head.

Priyanka’s cover for a men’s magazine recently faced a lot of flak on Twitter for photoshopping her armpits.

Lalit Pandit says that it was difficult to compose the song “Mast Hawa” based on the lyrics written Kapil Sibal fo Shorgul.

Music composer Lalit Pandit says that it was difficult to compose the song “Mast Hawa” based on the lyrics written by former union Minister Kapil Sibal for the film “Shorgul”.

“Two of the songs were really difficult and for one of them, composing music on Kapil Sibal’s words was a bit difficult. But by playing the words in a tune, the song ‘Mast Hawa’ written by him was made. I like the beat of the song a lot and its rhythm is unusual,” Pandit told IANS.

“Pratibha Baghel has sung the song, which is an unusual item number and has a hip-hop feel to it. We have not kept bass and it is a rhythm-based song, picturised on Hrishitaa Bhatt,” he added.

“Shorgul”, starring Jimmy Sheirgill and Ashutosh Rana among others, is directed by Pranav Singh and Jitendra Tiwari and is loosely based on the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots.

Talking about his experience of composing music for such a story, Pandit said: “As it is a love story against the background of riots, it is different and the music of the film caters to that. Our attempt was that the songs go according to the storyline of the film”.

“The songs are unusual. There are not too many songs and all of them are situational,” he added.

Prakash Gupta says newcomers are easy to work with while established stars might sometimes trouble you.

Producer Prem Prakash Gupta, who is coming up with his new project “Love Ke Funday”, says newcomers are easy to work with while established stars might sometimes trouble you.

Gupta, who has produced the movie “Super Model” as well as Punjabi film “Munde Kamaal De”, has now joined hands with lyricist Faaiz Anwar for the romantic comedy “Love Ke Funday” — slated for release in July.

The film boasts a star cast full of newcomers. Gupta says that the decision to take fresh faces for the film was the demand of the script.

“Established actors trouble you while newcomers are ready to work with you at your convenience. In any case, it was the demand of the subject that made us choose newcomers for the film,” Gupta said in a statement.

He added: “If we do not give a break to new faces, who will? Newcomers come with a lot of hope from all over the country. Those who are in demand today were also newcomers at one time. If somebody had not given them a break, they would not have been able to reach greater heights now. If a film is good, it will run, whether it boasts new faces or megastars.”

Produced by FRV Big Business Entertainment Private Limited by Faaiz Anwar and Prem Prakash Gupta, and written and directed by newcomer Indervesh Yogee, the film revolves around four heroes and four heroines — one is a married couple while another pair is in a live-in relationship. And then there are two bachelors who keep changing their girlfriends.

The film, with music by Prakash Prabhakar and Faran Faaiz, has dialogues with a humourous punch too.

Gupta is a successful business man in Bengaluru who deals with steel and his company is known as Triveni Enterprises.

When asked as to how he entered the field of films, Gupta shared that he “came into this field thanks to my friend like Faaiz Anwar”.

It’s not only glamour that made him come to showbiz. He says that “I have come here to treat filmmaking as a business revenue model”.

Gupta’s journey in the industry has been good till now. He shared that: “Till date, whoever I have worked with has been very good to me.”

He is also producing “Faaizbhai” and “Sachhi Muchhi Love Ho Gaya”.

To Salman: Next time your muscles ache, try ‘painful’

salman sultan_759
When a superstar such as Salman Khan uses a simile in public, it should show us all up in the mirror reflection.

From announcing that he had left every vice “like cigarettes, alcohol and coffee except women” and that his punishing training routine for the film Sultan, where he essays the role of a wrestler, left him feeling like a “raped woman”, actor Salman Khan was doing what he does so effortlessly — no, not Being Human, just himself.

Unfortunately, he is not the only one.

Rape is a word tossed around casually, often by men, sometimes by women. Sometimes to compare a violation, sometimes just to evoke a few laughs. When the boys in the hugely popular Aamir Khan-starrer 3 Idiots play a prank on their irritating and weak-in-Hindi South Indian classmate Chatur, they replace the word ‘chamatkar’ (miracle) with ‘balatkar’ (rape) in his speech welcoming the education minister and praising his college Dean. Balatkar was mentioned innumerable times in the speech. “Seeke inse seeke…dika denge sabko jo balatkar karne ki kshamtaa yaha ke chaatro mein hai wo sansaar ke kisi chaatro mein nahiii (Learn from him. We will show everyone that no other students have the power to rape as we do).”

It was harmless fun and entire families laughed helplessly as an oblivious and chuffed Chatur bumbled on but it comes from a culture, the world over, where such words are used casually, robbing them their actual meaning.

Also read: Sona Mohapatra trolled for speaking against Salman Khan

We hear such phrases in conversations on streets and in homes all the time. Unfortunately, much of the abuse refers to women — and women often mouth them with equal ease. Everyone draws their own line but sometimes aggression and violence in language crosses all limits, spilling out into the realm of action.

Also read: If Salman feels the need to apologise, he will: Arbaaz

So, when a superstar uses a simile in public, it should show us all up in the mirror reflection. It should also be the starting point for a discussion about serious issues that concern women, especially in a country like India where crimes against women have only been on the rise.

Also read: Oops! He Did it Again

No one but those who have been raped knows what it is to be raped, However, people will use the term casually, use it to compare a situation that just doesn’t compare. Like Salman. The next time you are tired and your muscles hurt and you want the world to know, just try painful.

Pulkit Samrat says he and Yami are “way beyond” the stories written about their apparent off-screen romance.

Rather than getting bothered by his link-up rumours with Yami Gautam, actor Pulkit Samrat says such stories only prove the popularity of their on-screen chemistry.

The two have been rumoured to be seeing each other since they began shooting together for “Sanam Re”.

Pulkit says he and Yami are “way beyond” the stories written about their apparent off-screen romance.

“It’s been nice that people have been loving the pairing. I haven’t seen such a response to any pairing for a long time. It feels very nice. It is a huge compliment for the hard work that we have put in. We really appreciate that. I am very happy,” the actor told PTI in an interview.

“Gossip or rumour about personal life does not bother me. If people are saying whatever they are saying, I take it as a compliment for the on-screen chemistry that we share. That means people like our work. Had people not liked our chemistry, they wouldn’t have said anything about us. I don’t care about the rumours. We are way beyond that.”

Pulkit and Yami have re-teamed for another love story, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri’s “Junooniyat” and the most of the buzz around the movie is courtesy their much talked-about equation.

The actor says people might feel that he and Yami decided to be a part of the film after working on “Sanam Re” but it was “Junooniyat” which the pair had signed first.

“‘Junooniyat’ was the first film that we signed. ‘Sanam Re’ happened later and we both did not know that the other person is doing ‘Sanam Re’. We started shooting for ‘Junooniyat’ before ‘Sanam Re’ and after 10-15 days we were on the sets of ‘Sanam Re’. We shot the two films simultaneously.”

“Junooniyat” follows the romance between an Army officer, Jahaan Bakshi (Pulkit), and a simple yet strong-headed girl, Suhaani Kapoor, played by Yami.

For Pulkit, the fact that “Junooniyat” is a love story of two similar people sets it apart from other romantic films.

“A highlight of the story for me was that it is love between two very similar people. Normally, we see the story of two opposites falling in love but that’s not the case here. I found that interesting.

A love story definitely demands a great on-screen chemistry between its actors but according to Pulkit chemistry not only depends on the performing artists, but the whole crew which works to get each romantic scene right.

“Definitely, the most important part of a love story is the chemistry between the two actors because a love story is about a guy and a girl meeting and falling in love. You don’t see love coming across if the chemistry is not there.

“But the chemistry is also not only about the two people playing the characters. It is also about how well they are written and performed and that happens only when the entire team is in sync.”

Actors Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi have teamed up again for Milan Luthria’s historical fiction Baadshaho, set against the backdrop of Emergency.

Apart from Ajay and Emraan, the film will also feature Ileana D’Cruz, Esha Gupta ad Vidyut Jamwal in prominent roles.

Co-produced by Milan and Bhushan Kumar and written by Rajat Aroraa, “Baadshaho” is a thriller set in the Emergency era of the 70s.

[Related=post]

“This is a historical fiction film. We have used some facts, there is lot of stuff that was unusual and exciting. It (Emergency as subject) is a great backdrop for action and thrills. We have done extensive research on the subject,” Milan told PTI.

In India, the ‘Emergency’ refers to a 21-month period in 1975–77 when Prime Minister Indira Gandhi unilaterally had a state of emergency declared across the country.

When asked if any of the actors would play real life characters, Milan said, “It’s a historical fiction film, all characters are grey.”

Ajay and Emraan played gangsters in Milan’s 2010 blockbuster “Once Upon A Time In Mumbai”. In “Baadshaho” they will sport a different look.

“Their (Ajay and Emraan) look will be completely different. It will be rustic…the look will be timeless,” Milan said.

The “Dirty Picture” helmer will collaborate with a foreign action director for “Baadshaho”. The music includes Rajasthani folk with a funky twist, composed by Ankit Tiwari.

The multi-starrer film is all set to go on floors this August with a 15-day schedule in Mumbai, followed by a two month schedule in Rajasthan.

In his
three-films old career, Vicky Kaushal is already being touted as the new poster-boy of independent cinema but the actor says he wants to stay away  from such labels because they are limiting.

He made an impressive debut as Deepak in “Masaan” and his turn as a man on a self-discovery journey in “Zubaan” cemented his standing as an able actor.

The 28-year-old star says it’s the audience who has categorised him in a certain type but for him, he is just an excited performer who wants to keep exploring different characters as he grows in the industry.

“The moment I start categorising myself, I will start limiting myself as an actor. I don’t know what I am capable of as of now. I did not know I could play Deepak in ‘Masaan’ or do ‘Zubaan’… And that’s how I want to keep it. When you are not sure if you can do a film, then you feel excited as a performer,” Vicky told PTI in an interview.

The actor says audience’s perception is something that he would like to break with every film.

“I want them to believe in an image and then break it. I want to create an image and then break it. I don’t mind the perception of being an indie actor though because it means ‘Masaan’ stayed with them. It’s a compliment.”

Vicky is ready to surprise his fans again with Anurag Kashyap’s crime-thriller “Raman Raghav 2.0”, where he is ditching his romantic, boy-next-door image by playing a troubled cop.

“That is a deliberate effort from my end. Whatever I do, should surprise me and the audience and I want that with every film people should feel ‘What is he upto now?’.”

Vicky says it was a huge deal for him that a director of Kashyap’s stature had shown trust in him.

“I feel very fortunate that in my third film, I am playing a character like this and a director like Anurag Kashyap has shown trust in me. It means a huge deal… I also had to push myself as far as I could to portray this role.”

Vicky, who started his career as an assistant director on Kashyap’s “Gangs of Wasseypur”, has known the filmmaker since he was 12. The actor says Kashyap wasn’t initially sure that he would be able to pull off the complicated character.

“Anurag sir told me he had three-four actors on his mind and I was last on his list so he wanted me to audition for it. The reason he was skeptical because he knows me inside out and nothing in my life comes close to Raghav.”

But the director believed in his capabilities as an actor and was surprised to see Vicky finally transform into the drug-snorting cop that was needed for the movie.

Losing on sleep, locking himself up in a room for days and detaching himself from family and friends were few of the things that Vicky had to follow to get into the skin of Raghav. This is why, the actor was more than happy to get rid of the character once the film was over.

“When you play a character like Deepak in ‘Masaan’, you want to stay in that space for as long as possible because he is such an endearing person. So, it becomes more difficult to move out of it. You start enjoying it and it becomes difficult to clean your slate.

“With a character like Raghav, it’s so complex that you don’t enjoy being in that space. It takes a toll on you because it’s not you. You want to get out of it.”

Also starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, “Raman Raghav 2.0” releases this Friday.

Abhishek Jawkar has denied that he has shown Goa in bad light after receiving criticism over the film’s trailer.

Director of the upcoming investigative thriller “Missing On A Weekend” Abhishek Jawkar has denied that he has shown Goa in bad light after receiving criticism over the film’s trailer.

“After showing the trailer, I have received lot of criticism saying that ‘you’re showing Goa in bad light and it will affect the tourism of India’. But there is nothing like that,” Abhishek told IANS.
He added that all the characters in “Missing On A Weekend” are fictitious and it was the script’s demand that he chose Goa to shoot the film.

“My illusion is what if Goa was like Delhi. We always read about several crimes happening in Delhi. I could have shot the film in Delhi, but the script demanded a tourist destination like Goa,” Abhishek said.

The film is about a group of seven friends whose trip to Goa goes haywire when they go missing one by one. The media also gets into the case and questions the safety of Goa and starts comparing it to Delhi.

“I have observed that people from Delhi who have not seen the sea do crazy things when they come to Goa. They take freedom for granted,” he said.

“The film’s story is about a group of seven friends who visit Goa over the weekend and feel they can do everything. But their plan fails when they encounter an unwanted person and they all go missing one by one,” the director added.

“Missing On A Weekend” stars Pavan Malhotra, veteran singer Hariharan’s son Karan and is presented by The Red Bulb Studios and Adept Films. The film will hit the screens on July 1.
