Ramesh says he was nervous to shoot the “action sequences with Tiger as he’s someone known for his martial art skills”.
“I clearly remember filming an action scene where Tiger had to kick me and due to the lack of time management, I would get hit on my face everytime. After a few kicks, Tiger hugged and explained to me how I needed to correct my timing to execute the scene properly. By the end of the series of these sequences, I was able to do the scenes like a professional,” Ramesh said in a statement.
“Baaghi”, which brings forward a story of two rebels and how they turn out to be emotional anchor for each other, is helmed by Sabbir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. Also starring Shraddha Kapoor, the film will release on Friday.

“Sarbjit” is based on the life of Indian farmer Sarabjit Singh, who strayed into Pakistan, was convicted of terrorism and spying in Pakistan and sentenced to death.
“I am more interested in real life than a film. Therefore, when a film is made from real life incidents that seems to be more exciting for me. I am lucky to have that opportunity to portray a real life character as Sarabjit’s wife,” she said at the launch of the song “Tung lak” from “Sarbjit” on Thursday(April 28).
“Sukhpreet Kaur (Sarabjit’s wife) isn’t a famous character. Although, I did not have to learn the body language, mannerism for the role as Randeep (Hooda) had to. However, mentally, I had to prepare myself a lot. I take a lot of interest in preparing such kind of roles but as an actor, I would love to portray both, real character or fictional,” she added.
Unlike her character Nagma Khatun in “Gangs of Wasseypur”, Richa says her character in “Sarbjit” is a subdued wife. “The only similarity is that, in both the films the characters are ageing as the film proceeds. While my role in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ is a fiery, outspoken and a loud woman, here, I am a silent housewife whose husband isn’t present at home. She has to take the entire responsibility of her in-laws and her child. Sukhpreet is lively at first and gradually changes when she faces tragedy in her life.”

Bollywood actor Abhishek Duhan says he was overwhelmed while working with superstar Salman Khan in the forthcoming film “Sultan”.
Abhishek, who played a villain in the recently released Himesh Reshammiya-starrer action-drama “Teraa Suroor”, will be seen as a Haryana-based wrestler in “Sultan”.
“Working with Salman was absolutely surreal. I learnt so much by just observing him. He has no starry attitude, he lets his guard down and is playful. I have been his fan since childhood, so the feeling that I am finally working with him took a while to settle down,” Abhishek told PTI.
Produced by Yash Raj Films, “Sultan”, which also stars Anushka Sharma, centres around a wrestler who has problems in his professional and personal life.
Abhishek, who has featured in TV shows like “Miilee”, “Humnay Li Hai Shapath” and “Raja Ki Ayegi Baraat”, had also assisted director Sajid Nadiadwala in “Kick”, which starred Salman.
“During that time, I saw him (Salman) on the set as an assistant director, while this time he was my co-star. The only advice he gave me was to take things slow. I did my own stunts in the film, so he told me that even though it is a big project, I shouldn’t push myself too much at the risk of hurting myself,” he said.
Abhishek made his television debut with a lead role in “Shubh Vivah” and had, in fact, auditioned for Shah Rukh Khan’s “Fan” before bagging the Ali Abbas Zafar-directed film.
“For five-six years I used to give auditions like many other hopefuls. I had auditioned for ‘Fan’ too and was almost finalised for a role. But then, later I got to know that there were some internal changes which happened and the character got scrapped,” he said.
Even though he did not feature in the Shah Rukh-starrer, the auditions for “Fan” landed Abhishek a role with the “Dabangg” star.
“The team was looking for someone who could play a wrestler from Haryana. Since they had seen my audition, I was contacted. I again did a couple of screen tests before finally bagging the film,” he said.
“Sultan” is scheduled for release on Eid this year.

Jimmy Shergill has been opting for ensemble cast films of late, be it “Tanu Weds Manu” franchise or “Special 26”, and the actor says he does not mind doing small roles if he likes the scripts.
Jimmy, 45, says he often rejects solo leads because the actor does not find the roles exciting enough.
“…On one side, I am always offered these kind of films where I get to play solo leads. Then on the other side, there are stories like ‘Traffic’, ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ that come to me. I choose these films over solo leads because I feel I have already done the kind of stories the solo lead films offer me,” Jimmy told PTI.
“My roles in these films are small but stories are strong and there is a lot of scope of performance,” he added.
The actor is again a part of a multi-starrer, “Traffic”, where he plays a police commissioner.
Jimmy says he was taken in by film’s Malayalam version and felt he should “definitely” be a part of it.
“‘Traffic’ is being made by late director Rajesh Pillai. The film was a blockbuster down south and also won National Awards. It changed the guidelines of commercial cinema in Malayalam film industry. It was Rajesh’s dream to make the film in Bollywood.”
“After watching the Malayalam version, I felt I should definitely be a part of it. Traffic is something, which everybody is aware of despite they belong to a big or a small city. The main hero and the villain is traffic,” he said.
The trailer is already hogging the limelight with superstars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan lending their support to the thriller, which also stars Manoj Bajpayee in a pivotal role.
“We have got some amazing support from people like Salman bhai, SRK… They have all seen the promo and are coming forward to support it. These kind of films do require the support of big stars because they reach to the maximum number of audience,” Jimmy says.
The film also features Prosenjit Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee, Divya Dutta, Amol Parashar and debutant Richa Panai. It is set to hit theatres on May 6.

“Anybody can play Sangeeta Bijlani’s role but nobody can play Naureen’s role other than me. Naureen’s role was much difficult. I don’t think anybody could have done this role and you will realize this.
“We have a lot of actors who play glamorous part but I don’t think there are many who can bring out depth, maturity or variation in their role. I think that I do bring that onscreen to some extent,” Prachi told IANS.
“Azhar”, a biopic on the life of former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, will feature actor Emraan Hashmi in the title role.
The film, directed by Tony D’Souza, also features Lara Dutta and is slated to release on May 13.
Prachi says that she got the best role in the film.
“I think I hit the jackpot as I got the best role in the film. It was a huge challenge for me to play this role because I have never seen her nor read much about her,” she said.

A Special Jury Award went to Kalki earlier this year at the National Film Awards for her performance as a young woman afflicted with cerebral palsy in “Margarita, With A Straw”. Come May 27, she will again charm audiences with her act in “Waiting”. Another award-winning performance?
“I don’t want to think about awards because it should be a happy surprise and not a disappointment that ‘Oh I didn’t get an award. I can’t live for awards. I need to live for work. My award is work. If I get more work from this film, then that’s the biggest award,” Kalki told IANS in an interview.
“It’s important that the movie does well at the box office because that will allow more faith in studios to put money into these kinds of scripts,” she added.
The trailer of the Anu Menon directorial, produced by Ishka Films and Drishyam Films, shows how her and veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah’s characters come together due to pain. It also depicts how his character remains aloof from social media unlike Kalki’s character. Was she successful in convincing the veteran actor to join social networking sites?
“I haven’t managed to convince him off-screen also to get on Twitter although I told him it’s very useful. He has fake accounts, so he is very upset. He is like ‘Who are these people who create fake accounts?’ ‘Who has that kind of time?’ We’ve had funny conversations about social media,” said the “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” star.
For Kalki, her followers and friends from the digital world are very important.
“The kind of work that I do… my theatre and all gets spread because of social media. But, yes, it’s also important to switch off from it sometimes as we think it’s the whole world. It’s just the virtual world,” she said.
What about stardom? Is she tired of it?
“I am lucky enough to have a good balance. I am not ‘so so’ famous that I can’t walk on the streets. I can still go and buy some tomatoes on the road. Maybe, two or three selfie requests. But that’s okay,” said the actress, who feels glad that she doesn’t get stereotyped.
From playing a school girl-turned-prostitute in her debut movie “Dev.D” to a mentally disturbed character in “Shaitan” to an interior designer in the Hrithik Roshan-starrer “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara”, Kalki has tried her hand at various roles. That’s not all, she will be also seen in “A Death In The Ganj”, which is set in the 1970s. It will present her as “a sexy 35-year-old woman”.
“After I did my first film ‘Dev.D’ (2009), I started getting similar kind of roles. I wanted to do something different and I think it’s just about personality. I am somebody who wants to challenge myself and push my barriers…try something not explored before. So, I am learning,” she said.
Despite tasting success in Bollywood, she is still in love with the stage.
“I always loved theatre. For me as an actor, it’s a place to practise your art. It’s like muscle. Some people need to go to the gym to make muscles bigger, I go to theatre to make my acting better,” she said and added that she is looking forward to flying to the US in July for a play.
Apart from that, she also has a documentary in her kitty. Is it based on the Jawaharlal Nehru University row?
“I am doing a documentary about India and the progress of our country… how the country has changed over the years. It just happened that I was in Delhi at that point (in March) when JNU march was happening. Somebody took a photograph of me and assumed that my documentary was about the students. But it’s not. We are still shooting, so I can’t talk about it,” Kalki concluded.
Ramesh Sanjiv Swami, who will be seen playing an acquaintance of the main villain in “Baaghi”, heaped praise on actor Tiger Shroff’s professionalism and grounded nature.
