Aashiqui 2, which was the remake of Anu Aggarwal, Rahul Roy starrer 1990 musical film of the same name, has completed three years of release today. The lead actress of the film Shraddha Kapoor, who rose to fame with this movie, shared her excitement with fans on Twitter.

Playing Arohi, her character in the film was liked by most her fans and Aditya Roy Kapoor’s character of a singer was also appreciated by the fans. Their chemistry was soon admired by most of the people.

Shraddha posted a video in which she is seen running with her arms wide open definitely shows her happiness on this great achievement. The movie which went forth to becoming one of the biggest hits of 2013 gave the leading actors a nice platform.

Actress Sonakshi Sinha took to twitter to announce the release date of her upcoming film ‘Akira’, which is September 23. The film is an action drama directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by AR Murugadoss and Fox Star Studios.

Actor Manoj Bajpayee, who will next be seen onscreen in “Traffic”, which widely speaks about the ‘Green Corridor’ system, says he would love to meet people who have benefited from this “great initiative”.

The ‘Green Corridor’ initiative is created to fast-pace movement of ambulances carrying harvested organs from one hospital to the other.

“The good humanitarian ‘Green Corridor’ system has changed lives of many people. I would love to meet people who have benefited from this great initiative. In the film from what I know, he was a smooth…you know(pauses).

But why do you think Cricket and Bollywood click often?

It’s a very romantic whirlwind. These two professions Bollywood and the sports space are romantic in their own ways. Two people who are busy working and always in the limelight seek to see each other and it becomes exciting and romantic. Atleast that’s what I think. In the movie, we touch on every aspect of Azhar’s life and not just his cricketing career.

Do you identify with Sangeeta’s character in real life?

I have never had an affair with a married man. At least not yet. Who knows about the future.

Are you saying that you are open to the idea of having an affair with a married man in future?

Well no. But also I am not judging anyone. When you have had a relationship and when someone’s cheated on you, you make a vow that you would never do that to anyone else no matter what. I am very loyal on my decisions on how I want to live with my life and my morals and values for myself. I don’t care about anyone else. But whatever I do, I know how sensitive I am and I am very sensitive to other people as well.

How was it locking lips with serial kisser Emraan Hashmi?

After I signed the contract, I got to know he was known as the serial kisser. We were shooting for the song Bol Do Na Zara which means say what I want to say. I was like how can I say anything as my lips are always stuck to his(Emraan). How can I speak? And there were many retakes. I thought it was a joke and that they were pulling a prank And then I told them I am will charge extra.

For kissing?

Yes because they kept cutting it many times and I was like what’s wrong and they would say camera, camera. And I was like liars. I got angry and upset at one point. But yes, we had a lot of romantic scenes. I think the situation then (between Azhar and Sangeeta) must have been that of a lot of love and lust.

Was it tough playing a real person onscreen?

Well, yes because I never met the person and saw only videos, I didn’t think much about.

Why didn’t you meet Sangeeta? Prachi Desai met Azhar’s first wife.

There was no chance and opportunity. It didn’t work out. There was also no time.

As a glamour diva, how secure are you about your place in the industry?

I don’t consider myself as a glamour diva. If you get to know me, you will see that I am so dorky and weird. I pride myself on my personilty and not my looks because one day I will be old and crusty with a moustache and someone is going to love me for my personality and not looks. So whoever is going to marry me is going to laugh till he dies. I crack jokes all the time. Even when I have a fight, I will make a joke and people will laugh.

So any plans of settling down anytime soon?

These days women are lucky. We are independent, can choose our career make our own money and choose when want to marry and have kids which can also happen at later age. So, we should take advantage of living our lives to the fullest before we think of settling down with a dude and being in the kitchen because I won’t be cooking any rotis.

You said rotis. Does that mean you will marry an Indian?

Even if I do I will have to take Indian cooking classes because Indian cuisine is my favourite cuisine. Also I will be making rotis but only for myself.(laughs)

Tell us, are you really dating Uday Chopra?

Am I really dating? Interesting you ask me. Uday Chopra is a person who will be a part of my life for the rest of my life. He is the most amazing human being who I have ever met in my entire life not just in India but around the world. If anyone is his friend that person is lucky to have him in his life.

So just friends with him for the moment?
Yes

Are you single?
I am single but don’t try to ask me out on a date. People in this country know nothing about dating. No one ever took me out on a date. People are like I was passing by your house…can I come over? I am like, ‘No you are not. I don’t even know you’.

Are you saying that Indian men are bad at dating?

I don’t know. I am just putting it out there.

What is the worst pick-up line that you have ever come across?

People try to be over friendly at times. Hey I passed by your house. Why would you pass by my house? Like why? What would you do at my house? You are not going to mess inside my house. Never.

So what do you prefer?
I am classy. Take me out for a nice dinner. I am old school. You are going to hold the door for me and my chair. And before I sit down, you better stand and wait for me to sit. Guys don’t do that anymore. Come meet my friends back home. That isn’t classy.

Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan feels that Cannes Film Festival would be the perfect platform to showcase her upcoming film “Sarbjit”.

The film is a biopic on Sarabjit Singh, an Indian farmer who was convicted of terrorism and spying in Pakistan and was sentenced to death.

It narrates the story from the point of view of Dalbir Kaur, Sarabjit’s sister played by Aishwarya, who endured severe hardships in trying to get her brother released.

After 22 years on death row, Sarabjit was attacked by fellow inmates in jail and died in a Lahore hospital in May 2013.

The title role is played by Randeep Hooda, while the role of his wife has been played by Richa Chadha.

There have been reports that “Sarbjit” will be screened at the Cannes Film Festival this year.

“It’s (film) releasing on May 20. I don’t know if we will be able to make the opportunity possible on that (Cannes Film Festival) platform as well. In the last week (of film release) we meet you (media). So given the time line if it’s possible the team will use that opportunity,” Aishwarya, 42, told reporters here.

“However there are many deadlines to be met. We will wait for the team to announce if there is an opportunity. It (Cannes) would be the perfect platform to share it, but it is coinciding with the release of the film,” said Aishwarya, who was here to unveil the L’Oreal Paris Cannes 2016 Collection ahead of her trip to the festival as its brand amabassador.

The Omung Kumar-directed film is set to be screened in theatres on May 20.

Superstar Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor’s interviews and interesting behind-the-scene moments form a mega webisode, titled “Memoirs of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo”, set to release online as a special treat for fans.

The webisode, by filmmaker Vidhi Kasliwal, will also see director Sooraj Barjatya, Anupam Kher and other actors along with the entire unit of the movie discuss and share their thoughts on the title, the reasons behind the title “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” and the bond between Salman and Sooraj that began with “Maine Pyar Kiya” 25 years ago.

“From the time Sooraj ji decided to make his next film, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. We shot day and night and captured very interesting footage. The icing on the cake was that he was working with the one & only Salman Khan again,” said Vidhi in a statement.

“My team canned over 250 hours of footage from which I was very keen to produce and direct the digital assets. So what started as a 10-webisode series increased to 21 webisodes as the response to each asset was phenomenal! I was very happy when Soorajji told me that my team’s hardwork had contributed
so much to the record breaking opening the film got.”

Incidentally, a feature-length documentary on the making of “PRDP”, also by Vidhi, is expected to release this year.

Indian athletics legend Milkha Singh on Tuesday hit back at Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan by saying that the movie industry hasn’t done any favour by making a film on him.

Salim has tried to defend his son’s appointment as the goodwill ambassador of the Indian contingent for the Rio Olympic Games.

The move to appoint Salman was questioned by several members of the Indian sports fraternity, including Milkha and 2012 London Olympics wrestling bronze medallist Yogeshwar Dutt.

In his bid to defend his son, Salim tweeted on Monday: “Milkhaji it is not Bollywood it is the Indian Film Industry and that too the largest in the world. The same industry which resurrected you from fading away in oblivion.”

Salim referred to the soaring popularity the 80-year-old Milkha achieved after the release of a biopic on him named “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag”.

In reply to this, Milkha repeated the comments he had made two days ago.

“Let him (Salim) have his views. I don’t have anything to say regarding this. I have already put in my views. All the members of the Olympic contingent are our ambassadors,” the multiple Asian champion was quoted as saying by Times Now news channel.

“The IOA should have thought of what’s the need of the ambassador. I’m saying that the team who all are going whether it is shooting, wrestling, boxing or athletics, they all are our ambassadors. Out of 120 crore people in India, they have been our ambassador then what is the need of any other ambassador?

“It doesn’t make sense to appoint someone in this role. If an ambassador is required, we have many great sportspersons, like Sachin Tendulkar, P.T. Usha, Ajitpal Singh, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore,” he added.

Milkha, who finished fourth in the 400 metres sprint at the 1960 Olympics, continued: “It’s okay they have made a film on me. I don’t think that the movie industry has made a favour to me by making a film on my life.

“If they have any function, will they put any sportsmen as their chairman or ambassador? I gave my story for Re.1 and it is not a little thing. The movie made crores.

“If Salman Khan’s father is saying that Milkha Singh has said anything wrong, then I don’t agree to it, because the entire nation is saying that I am right and they are with me.”

Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan said she is not anxious about her look for upcoming Cannes Film Festival.

When asked about her choice of outfit for the extravaganza, the actress, who had earlier dazzled the audience with her sartorial choice, said, “I think it is a bit
advance as I would be meeting you all soon (referring to promotions of ‘Sarbjit’).

“Laying out the wardrobe is too early. I am girl on the go. But I have never spent sleepless nights planning the Cannes red carpet,” Aishwarya told reporters here.

Actress Adah Sharma has been signed by Vipul Shah as female lead with Vidyut Jamwal for “Commando 2”.

The “1920” actress has begun shoot the Shah-produced film.

Actor Harshvardhan Rane was at the ‘People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ (PETA) office here to meet up with his friends when he learned about the dilemma of their two rescued kittens who are looking for loving homes. He quickly took out his camera and clicked some shots of the kittens to be used for adoption call.

“We’re grateful to Harshvardhan who has clicked amazing photos of the kittens, which will help us find them homes” Sachin Bangera, PETA India associate director of celebrity and public relations, said in a statement.

Both the female kittens were found abandoned on the streets and now they are looking for permanent loving homes.

Bangera also mentioned that Harshvardhan’s visit to the PETA office was at the “purrfect time”.

“He is a true angel for animals,” he added.

This isn’t the first time that Harshvardhan has stepped up to support the cause of animals. The “Sanam Teri Kasam” actor had earlier starred in a campaign to prevent abuse of elephants.

Manoj plays a traffic constable in the film who decides to spearhead a situation where a heart has to be delivered to a patient in another location, amidst the heavy traffic in Mumbai.

Actor Tiger Shroff, who is awaiting the release of his film “Baaghi”, says he is keen to work in the remake of the 1989 film “Parinda” starring his father Jackie Shroff.

Asked if he would like to star in a remake of his father’s film, Tiger told IANS: “I would like to work in the remake of my father’s film ‘Parinda'”.

The one-film-old star shared that he likes all films starring Jackie, but “Parinda” is “close to his heart”.

“Although I like all his films, ‘Parinda’ is really close to my heart,” he added.

Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, “Parinda”, a crime drama film, also featured actors Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit in lead roles.

The Hrithik-Kangana saga is turning into a never ending Test match with allegations, counter allegations and leaks tumbling out regularly with every passing day. If today belongs to team Kangana, tomorrow is certainly team Hrithik’s day and that’s the pattern both parties have been allegedly following ever since the scandal broke out.

So, yesterday belonged to Kangana after leaked images of her alleged intimate moment with Hrithik clicked at a party in 2010 went viral. At first glance, it sure looked like both actors were enjoying an intimate moment. But something looked amiss as the image was grainy and not exactly a clear shot. It now emerges that the picture was apparently part of a large set of images clicked at a party hosted in December 2010 apparently hosted by Arjun Rampal. In a set of images published above, Hrithik is seen having a gala time with his then wife Sussanne, actor Dino Morea, designer Nandita Mahtani, actors Arjun Rampal, wife Mehr, director Abhishek Kapoor and other friends. Kangana, too, is seen in some of these group pictures smiling and pouting along with Hrithik by her side in a couple of them. And she is definitely wearing the same blue dress from the earlier leaked picture.

Sources suggest that the leaked intimate picture between the duo was part of one of the group pictures clicked at the same party that was surreptitiously cropped out and zoomed in to make it look like the duo shared an intimate moment.

While the new images definitely prove that Kangana was certainly not alone with Hrithik at the party and was enjoying the revelries with the rest of his friends, one is yet to come across the group picture from which the leaked intimate image has been zoomed and cropped out to make a stand alone one.

Nevertheless, it does now stand proved that Kangana has partied with gay abandon with Hrithik, his ex – wife and his friends at a private bash. And that raises certain questions:

A) What was Kangana doing at a private party. Who invited her? Hrithik or someone else?

B) Was Hrithik up, close and friendly with Kangana in real life as the poses in the pictures would suggest or was it just one of those days at a party when you pose with anybody.

C) Assuming without admitting that Kangana didn’t self invite herself to the party, the happy pictures surely suggest that Kangana was close to Hrithik and his gang including his ex-wife at one point.

D) Are there any actual shots of just Kangana and Hrithik posing together at the party or were there only group pictures taken?

Actor Manoj Bajpayee, who plays a traffic constable in his upcoming thriller “Traffic”, says that terming all traffic officials as bribe-seekers is an irresponsible act, since it is the common man who offers bribes to them.

“It is easy to say that traffic officials take money (bribe), but it is the common man who offers bribe to the traffic police. From your experiences you also know that no one allows their license to get confiscated.

“Calling all of them (traffic policemen), bribe-seekers will be a very irresponsible action of ours,” said Manoj, present at the launch of Big FM’s show “Big Heroes”.

In the film, Manoj plays a traffic constable who has committed a mistake and lost all respect. A situation where a heart has to be transported from one place to another in the extreme traffic of Mumbai, offers him the challenge to gain that lost respect, a challenge he takes up despite the risks associated with it.

About the challenges of a traffic constable, Manoj said: “In the extreme heat, standing for 30 minutes, while you’re waiting for a bus, the glow on your face vanishes, but they do about 18 hours duty, while being away from their families.”

The film is a remake of the Malayalam film of the same name. ‘Green corridors’ in traffic to transport hearts and organs have organised regularly.

Karan Johar says he aims to direct at least one movie every two years as the filmmaker wants to leave an archive of many films behind.

Johar, who last directed “Student of the Year” in 2012, is not particularly happy with the increase in gap between his directorial ventures.

His next directorial venture, “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil”, is scheduled to release this Diwali.

“My primary passion is to direct films and I want to make one film in every two years because my gaps become longer. I think next year I need to do some adjustments so that I direct many films. I am not getting any younger and I feel I need to leave an archive of many movies behind,” Johar told reporters here.

The “My Name Is Khan” director was speaking at the launch of “India’s Got Talent” season seven. The reality TV show, part of the global “British Got Talent” franchise, first aired in India in 2009.

Along with Johar, the show is judged by actress Kirron Kher and Malaika Arora Khan.

Malaika said the show is different from other reality shows out there as it is an amalgamation of various talents.

“There are comedy, singing, dancing shows, but this is the only show which is an amalgamation of everything on stage and we have get talent from around the world as well. So you can’t take away that essence of the show,” she said.

The season seven will premiere on April 30 on Colors channel.

Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal says he is excited to go to the Cannes Film Festival where his upcoming film “Raman Raghav 2.0” will be premiered.

The Anurag Kashyap-directed thriller stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui as a serial killer, while the “Masaan” actor will play the role of a policeman. The film will be showcased at Cannes’ Directors Fortnight section. The festival will open on May 11.

Vicky says the film’s screening will coincide with his birthday, the “best gift” he could have asked for.

“I’ll be going to Cannes with the whole team on May 14. I think the screening will be on May 16 which also happens to be my birthday. This will be the best birthday gift. I couldn’t have asked for more,” Vicky told PTI in an interview.

Raman Raghav, also known as Psycho Raman, was a psychopathic serial killer who terrorised the streets of Mumbai in the mid-1960s.

Vicky, 27, earlier assisted Kashyap on the two parts of “Gangs of Wasseypur” in 2010, which also starred Nawazuddin.

The “Zubaan” stars says it will be a special moment as he will go with a team which has seen him grow over the years.

“I am extremely excited, I am already dreaming about being in Cannes. What is more special is I am going with a team which has seen me grow over the years. It feels extremely special,” he said.

Kashyap has earlier showcased his films “Ugly” and the two-part crime saga “Gangs of Wasseypur” in the Cannes festival’s sidebar.

“Raman Raghav 2.0” is scheduled to release in India on June 24.
