Irshad Kamil’s directorial debut about relationships

Noted Bollywood lyricist Irshad Kamil is all set to turn director with a film to be produced by filmmaker Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra.

Irshad has penned songs in films like “Jab We Met”, “Love Aaj Kal”, “Rockstar”, “Aashiqui 2” and the recent Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone starrer “Tamasha”.

“Yes, I am doing the film. Rakeysh ji has already confirmed it. I can’t divulge anything more now except that it’s a story about relationships. It’s too early to talk about the film,” Irshad told PTI.

The film is reportedly titled “Saanjhi”, with the script written by the lyricist himself.

Irshad made his debut with Sudhir Mishra’s “Chameli” in 2004, penning the popular song “Bhaage Re Mann”.

He then went on to write songs in films like “Ahista Ahista”, “Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai”, “Cocktail” and “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo”.
