Singer-composer Shekhar Ravjiani, who is making his acting debut with “Neerja”, says he took up the film for his friendship with director Ram Madhvani.
“Ram is a very close friend of mine since several years and he was insistent that I do the film. I can’t refuse friends,” Shekhar said in Mumbai.
He was also not worried about facing the camera.

“When there are directors like Ram, you don’t need to worry. The work is effortless and stress-free. I enjoyed a lot… It is a beautiful film,” he added.
“Neerja”, a biopic on the late Neerja Bhanot who lost her life while saving others on a hijacked plane, stars Sonam Kapoor as the protagonist.
Talking about her, Shekhar said: “She is fantastic and she has been a friend since I did ‘I Hate Luv Storys’, for which I had composed the music. After I got to know that Sonam is Neerja Bhanot, and that Ram Madhvani is directing, I was delighted.”
