Bollywood actress Richa Chadha, who has always impressed the audience with her different avatars in her films, is just back from a successful trip to the the ongoing 69th Cannes Film Festival held in France. This was her third year there.
Richa made her Cannes debut in 2012 with Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur Part 1, in which played the role of a wife and mother of four. The vibrant character left an indelible impression with her motor-mouth, who doesn’t shy away from using even the ugliest of street slang.
Last year, Richa attended the prestigious Cannes Film Festival for Masaan, directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, and was honoured with a standing ovation and two prestigious awards. This year, she was seen walking the red carpet for the third time along with the cast of her film, Sarbjit.
When asked about her experience in the festival and red carpet appearance, Richa said, “I have had the privilege to attend the festival for three times altogether. I feel lucky to get the parts I do, and happy to represent Indian cinema in my humble capacity over there. It was a last-minute trip this time, but I am glad I could put together some great fashion appearances thanks to my stylist. I hope I continue to do work that takes me around the world for the love of movies.”
Back in her hometown, Richa is now gearing up for the release of her film.
We will see the actress next in Sarbjit this weekend, which is a biopic based on the life of a farmer who was arrested by the Pakistan army for allegedly crossing the border and tortured to death after being convicted as an Indian spy. Richa plays the role of Sarbjit’s wife Sukhpreet in the film.
Directed by Omung Kumar, the film also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Randeep Hooda in the lead and is releasing in theatres on May 20.
